Career path

Dr Karia's medical experience includes several years as a Specialist Registrar in Accident and Emergency in busy London hospitals. She also has experience in Elderly Care Medicine (a special interest), Orthopaedics, Paediatrics and ENT and is trained in Minor Surgery.

Parul continues to work actively as a GP within the NHS on 2 mornings per week. She is therefore contantly kept abrest of changes in best medical practice and fulfilling the requirements of the Royal Colleges of which she is a member.

Parul was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 1998 and Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) in 2006. She completed her General Practice Vocational Training in Watford and during this time was a finalist in the 2006 Guidelines in Practice Awards.

She has been an Instructor in both Adult and Paediatric Advanced Life Support courses and has taught in Junior Doctor and Medical Student education programmes.

Parul has been working as a GP since 2003 and more recently has developed Acupuncture as a special interest. She is a member of the British Medical Acupuncture Society (BMAS).
